Pursuing A Career As A Researcher - 1340 Words

When I earned my B.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering, I had to take a major decision: start professional life or opt for graduate school. To me, the choice was simple. Being encountered numerous research works of different disciplines and after doing some research myself, I realized the value of research in advancing knowledge and how challenging research can be and have set my mind upon pursuing a career as a researcher. Hence, despite having two joining letters in my hand, my lifelong aim of acceding in the academic arena and doing advanced research directed me towards the graduate education without a single moment of hesitation. As a reasonable step towards this objective, I want to have a Ph.D. degree, involving myself further into the torrent of knowledge. From an early age, the beauty of mathematics and physics mesmerized me. I remember buying higher level books on mathematics in the hope that I could learn unique methods or theorems that no other students of my class knew. Consequently, this fascination for mathematics led me to study in Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology, the oldest and the most reputed engineering university of Bangladesh. I proved myself in the most competitive admission test, where, in a single year, less than top 1% students have the opportunity to attend, among them less than 10% get selected for BUET.
